Stricty For Men! By Tony Kanu hehehe....

AND FOR THE LADIES: I'm sure most of us 'eavesdropped' on Tony Kanu's write-up on 'Strictly for the men', & had our laughs, oohs & aahs. Now the hammer is on the ladies!

1.A lady's hair should be properly groomed at all times. Most of the ...
time, that's what draws the man's attention besides your beauty or lovely figure or what you have upstairs. Leaving that weave-on or braids for more than a month makes it ooze & the man tries to wrinkle his nose to either avoid the smell or ADJUST to the smell! If changing your hairdo & washing it thereafter is too expensive for you, you can carry your natural hair or permed hair & endeavour you visit the salon at least once a week to wash your hair.

2.Now wearing that hair net or tieing a wrapper perpetually on your chest is a COMPLETE turn-off for men! It reminds them of their old grandma in the villa! Lol! A good pair of shorts(combat shorts, bum shorts, ordinary shorts, etc), with fitting top, gown, skirt/blouse will suffice & make you look more appealing & will make him want to give you a hug!

3. The armpit! Arrrgh!!! Some ladies have overgrown hair na-ama ebu in their armpits & wear sleeveless tops with it! That's an eyesore even if you're at home. Same goes for the pubic hair that is left overgrown & is more akin to the rainforest! PLEASE ladies, shave that armpit hair & apply a sweet smelling deodorant. It must not be expensive. All Day deodorant is about N200 or less. You also have sure & other good deodorants. Forget that misconception of a deodorant being 'luxury & a waste of money'. Nah! It's a NECESSITY for EVERY female! As for the pubic hair, shave or trim at least once a week & apply sweet smelling powder in between the thighs for a sweeter smell & fresher feeling!

4. The mirrors in most eatries aren't for you to check out your outfits! They are for you to use & be sure that there are no bits of food or veggies left in between your teeth. Please rinse your mouth after eating food like beans, fish, garlic-spiced food, suya with onions, etc. Pop in a sweet into your mouth to checkmate any mouth odour that will definitely arise after eating such food.

5. Now, most ladies don't know that taking a bath at least twice a day is a necessity. Some ladies just come home after a sweaty day outside, go to the kitchen & cook, & carry their onions smelling body or ogili smelling body straight to bed without an evening or night bath! That's VERY unappealing to a man esp your husband & it's one of the things that push men outside to seek that 'Agbomma' who smells fresh before going to bed. PLEASE take a shower before going to bed & use a sweet smelling toilet soap. Rub powder on your armpits & in between your thighs afterwards for a fresh feeling & sweet smell. Wear a nice or sexy nightwear afterwards & not that wrapper you tie on the chest or your waist with an old oversized T-Shirt!

6. TAKE TIME to take your bath! DON'T rush it. Scrub your neck, armpits, body & finally the private parts. If possible, squat down & scrub that place well. I was amazed during my NYSC when most ladies took their bath in a big open bathrrom & I witnessed some ladies splashing just water into their private parts. No soap. They qickly dried themselves & came out smelling the same:like an ogili that was left forgotten on the kitchen table! Sometimes you pass some ladies & you perceive an odour that isn't coming from the armpit, or a lady sits down & while trying to cross her legs, you have a whiff of a foul odour that is obviously from the private part but was initially masked by the perfume she's wearing. That's a turn-off for decent men who like clean ladies.

7. Wear bathroom slippers indoors. It's disheartening when you see the soles of a lady's feet looking so dirty because she's been walking around the house barefeet. It paints a picture of a dirty lady & besides, it leaves the feet cracked, hard & non-feminine. You can have two pairs of slippers for wearing outside & inside the house.

8. Don't leave your undies soaked in that small bucket for more than a day, especially your undies for your menses. It leaves an unappealing odour in the bathroom & gives an impression of you being dirty.

9. Change your pads when you're on your menses at least 3-4x daily esp the first two days when the flow is heavier. That way you won't have a stale odour of dried blood trailing after you!!!

10. Lastly, your bag shouldn't be only for your make-up or blackberry phone! Every lady should have tissue paper in the bag for cleaning up after weeing; small container of white powder for application to the inner thighs after changing your pad or weeing; a pad in case your period starts suddenly & without notice; newspaper for wrapping up your pad & disposing properly in a waste bin; a safety pin in case ur zipper decides to disgrace you; a small hand mirror to check your teeth after eating & to repair your make-up; handkerchief to wipe that sweat off your face; a comb or hair brush to tidy up your hair occasionally & needle & thread in case your skirt hem runs.

I know I must have stepped on some ladies' toes by this write-up, but giiirls, knowledge is power!!! I pray & hope that after this, I'll encounter more sweet smelling & better groomed ladies!!! Cheers.

Carrot Egg Or Coffee Beans...Lovely Inspirational Story

I stumbled on this story and i thought to share it with you guys....
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and... in the last she placed ground coffee beans.
She let them sit and boil without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.
Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what you see?" "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft and mushy. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hardened egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its deep flavor and inhaled its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What's the point, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water - but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin, outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong? But with pain and adversity, do I wilt and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a fluid spirit but, after death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart? Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water - the very circumstance that brings the adversity, the pain, the hardship – into something quite wonderful. When the water gets hot, it releases its aroma and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better, and change the situation around you for the better. When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate to another level? How do you handle adversity?
ARE YOU A CARROT, AN EGG, OR A COFFEE BEAN?
(Somehow, wake up and smell the coffee takes on a whole new meaning)

A Note To My Fellow Women...

A NOTE TO MY FELLOW WOMEN…
I had been meaning to talk on this but coming across a friend’s BB display message gave me the impetus to get this over with. The BB display message read THERE IS A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL FOR WOMEN THAT DON’T HELP OTHER WOMEN…I couldn’t agree more! Damn it, why are we our greatest enemies? Why would any woman feel the elevation of another woman mean her own downfall? Why ...are we not genuinely happy for one another? Why do we see most things in terms of ‘who will get ahead of the other’? A few years back, I visited an aunt in Abuja and her husband’s niece(Ada) was there, a young lady that had just left the University and came to Abuja to ‘job hunt’,meanwhill,my aunt has a lady friend that is quite influential in one of the federal Parastatals-due to her job placement. I noticed my aunt was reluctant to discuss Ada’s issue with the woman but I kept nudging her to do so-no harm in trying. Eventually, my aunt gave in and broached the matter with the woman (in my presence-even though I pretended not to be listening)…the woman flared up and went…LINDA, I HAVE TOLD YOU THAT I DON’T LIKE HELPING WOMEN! She sounded so unapologetic about her decision and I was shocked…what could have made her that UNFEELING to the plight of a young lady?
This also brings me to the attitude of MOST of us –attitudes bordering on JEALOUSY, GREED AND COVETOUSNESS. Some women are greedily wired, you dare not show them you are happy or they will find a way of ‘pouring sand in your garri’.How would anyone explain the case of two lady friends-with one being married to a very wealthy man.And she never failed to extend UNUSUAL GENEROSITY to her friend, who felt the easiest way she could pay back a friend(that has been wonderful to her) was to go have an affair with the friend’s husband, became pregnant and so confrontational towards the woman that was once her ECONOMIC LIFE LINE…she died mysteriously in that pregnancy.
I can go on and on but my message of today is for every woman out there…go within yourself and examine your conscience(if you have any)…that lady you are set to bring down(at all cost)…what exactly is her offence to you? The time and energy you expend in being NASTY to a fellow woman can’t be used in some other productive way? Are you really happy being the architect of a fellow woman’s down fall? Will HER downfall solve all your problems in life and make you happy forever? In case, you don’t know…REAL JOY actually comes when we make an effort to be nothing less than GOOD to another! Some women would rather bring an ANIMAL closer-than fellow men…all because of the raw deal they have received in the hands of their fellow women. Time to start seeing your fellow women as human beings and NOT some obstacle that should be brought down…you are NOT GOD and can never determine what your own FATE will be too because what you sow is exactly what you will reap!

Ladies Do You Agree?

A ‘STUDY’ THAT CLAIMED TO HAVE INTERVIEWED WOMEN (FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD) CONCLUDES THAT, THE FOLLOWING ‘THOUGHTFUL GESTURES’ ARE WHAT EVERY WOMAN EXPECTS FROM HER MAN-EVEN WHEN SHE DOES NOT VOICE IT!!!
‘’Always try to make me laugh, touch my heart and my soul-before you touch my body’’
“Laugh with me, not at me.”
“Never make me feel belittled”
“Deal with me in terms of b...iblical or unbiblical, or better and best. Deal with me in terms of preference or ideal, NOT in terms of wrong, bad or stupid.”
“Communicate with me in advance, in process and in wrap-up. I’m not a mind reader. When I ask you a question about what you’re thinking, don’t treat it as me disrespecting or some kind of disruption. I am just trying to get in on the thought process. When we are wrapping up or we are finishing plans, debrief with me. I want us to be a team…start seeing me as a partner”
“Include me.”
“Inspire and challenge me, not correct or chasten or scold. I’m not a child. Don’t use phrases like, “You shouldn’t do… or “don’t you ever…”
“See me as a valuable asset. I am a valuable contributor. See me as a good balance and as someone good to have on the team. I want to be seen as someone you would ‘pick first on the playground’ otherwise I think that you’d rather have someone else.”
“Accept me as I am. I have strengths and limitations. I want you to see my gifts and abilities and think I am awesome!”
“Be patient with me. I’m capable. Give me grace for a learning curve. If it’s new give me time to learn it. Give grace for natural gifting. It may be something that comes easily for you, but not for me. If I’m struggling it’s because it’s something that doesn’t come naturally for me. Think about how you would struggle with things that are my natural gifting.”
“Remember these are BOTH our kids. Participate like they belong to BOTH of us.”
“Support me. Value my contribution. Don’t treat it lightly. And help me. When you help me, balance ‘asking’ versus ‘just doing’. Sometimes when you help you are in the way. So ask. Sometimes you need to be intuitive and just come start helping. I know that seems picky but just try and you’ll know by my response if you should be asking or doing.”
“Don’t compare my contribution to yours. Don’t minimize or upset my contribution either. Don’t undo or undermine it. If I make a plan for the house, participate in the plan.”
“Pray for me. Cover me daily. Seek God for my desires. If you don’t know what to pray, ask me. But you’ll always know what to pray if you just remember that I want to ‘be better, have better, and do better.’
“Always remind me that I am still beautiful-even if we have been married for GOD KNOWS HOW LONG and BABY MAKING is taking its toll on my figure’’.
‘’Don’t make be believe you are cheating on me-talk less of letting me witness it…it will devastate me and our marriage may never recover from the damage’’

HAVE A POSITIVE MINDSET...

I came across this saying, that is credited to ‘NaMedina El Tahiti’ and I quote-"When a girl is used to getting hurt, she won't know how it feels when a guy starts to appreciate her, so she ends up pushing him away”
My take on the issue is…when a man comes across such a girl, some PATIENCE (on the part of the man) is what is actually needed-especially when he knows where ...the girl is coming from. We are all products of our experiences (to a large extent)...remember?
What he sees as PUSHING AWAY could very well be her SURVIVAL TECHNIQUE... or she is just being CAREFUL not to get hurt again. I do not see why such GUARDED BEHAVIOR should disqualify her from the love a man that is GENUINE...my two cents.
And to THE HEART BROKEN (man/woman)…I will only say that LIFE itself is a risk. When it comes to matters of the heart, one cannot really be too careful. You only know your motive-and not the motive of the other fellow.
You have no option than to give someone a chance someday. You probably experienced the NOT SO IDEAL part of life, so you can learn to cloak yourself in ‘goodness’. There should come a point in your life when you should not only decide to laugh but to LOVE again. One who abuses your ‘goodness’ is actually the loser because the next person he will meet will most likely be his type, as life rewards your ‘goodness’. And like a saying goes …’’ Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened.’’. Everything that happens to us in life is actually a pathway to what is to come, that is- If a situation is not a blessing to you, at least it taught you a lesson. The ‘wrong person’ needed to give way for the ‘right’ person to come on board. Keep a positive mindset; it is very important that you do not allow yourself to be overly cynical about Love…that is a recipe for a lonely and unhappy existence

5 Health Benefits Of Ginger

If you're in the market for a healthy spice, pick up some ginger. Ginger's benefits are many and varied - it:

  1. Alleviates nausea and motion sickness
  2. Relieves congestion
  3. Reduces inflammation
  4. Reduces the risk of blood clots
  5. Provides a pleasant "warming" sensation against winter chills.
A simple way to incorporate ginger into your diet is to make fresh ginger tea: add about one half teaspoon of grated ginger root to eight ounces of boiling water. Cover and steep for 10 to 15 minutes, strain, then add honey to taste (if desired). You can also eat candied or pickled ginger or honey-based ginger syrups - or try this recipe, which includes ginger

TWO MEN IN A HOSPITAL…A SHORT STORY.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was
allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the
fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other
man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on
... end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their
involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he
would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could
see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those
one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the
activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a
lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their
model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm -amidst flowers of every color of
the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the
city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window
described all these in exquisite details, the man on the other side of the
room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.
One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.
Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it in his
mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive
words. Days and weeks passed.
One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to
find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in
his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the
body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could
be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and
after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully,
he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world
outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He
strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a
blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased
roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The
nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She
said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you." …ANONYMOUS

FINAL WORD: There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite
our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when
shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just Count all of the things
you have that money can't buy. "Today is a gift, that's why it is called the
present."

THINK ABOUT THIS…

*Should you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair.
There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard-of privilege.
*Should you have a bad day at work,
think of the man who has been out of work for the last one year.
... *Should you despair over a relationship gone bad, think of the person who has
never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
*Should you grieve the passing of another weekend,
think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day,
seven days a week(for what may seem like PEANUTS to you)-to feed her family.
*Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance,
think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
*Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror,
think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
*Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about,
asking, "what is my purpose?," be thankful.
There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
*Should you find yourself the victim of
other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities,
remember, things could be worse--you could be them!
*Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight,
just remember the homeless family who has no bed to lie in.
*Should you decide to SHARE THIS with others, you might brighten someone's
day!

 HAVE A BLESSED WEEK AHEAD

Discover your gifts in mins !!

Lets try this together, take a long honest look at what you are good at and what you are not good at. Ask other people for their candid opinion, tell them you are searching for the truth 'lol 'not fishing for a compliment. One thing you must know is that, natural abilities are always confirmed by others.
Sincerely ask yourself these questions:

1. Where have i seen fruit in my life that other people confirmed?

2. Where have i been sucessful?

The best way to discover your gifts and abilities is to experiment with different areas of service. You will never know what you're good at until you try.
Please feel free to send in your suggestions on morevways and tips to finding your purpose.
