The issue she brought before the Parliament is about a man (in his early 40s) that her cousin introduced her to. The man is said to have relocated from abroad, after his wife and the mother of his two daughters (whom he took abroad for further studies) divorced him about FIVE years ago. They have been communicating so well and when it was time for them to meet-he invited her to his base. She visit...ed him, they chatted familiarly –almost like they have known each other for years. He is a comfortable man by all standards. But something is troubling her spirit; she spent FOUR DAYS at his house-sleeping on the same bed with him every night.
The first night, they chatted till late (while on the bed) but he did not touch her, the second day-same thing. So, on the third and fourth nights, she cuddled up to him (caressing his navel and tummy) during the early hours of the morning but this man did NOT stir .He pretended to be fast asleep and this disturbs her. She did the cuddling (very early in the morning) because she knows that the bodies of most men are usually ‘up’ at such times of the day but she found an exception in this man. She likes him but this is a worry to her. His only remark (when she made a veiled comment about what happened between them) is that HE IS WELL TRAINED BY HIS PARENTS, THUS HE HAS A GREAT DEAL OF DISCIPLINE…THAT HE DOES NOT BELIEVE IN SEXUALLY RUSHING ANY WOMAN THAT COMES HIS WAY.
When she relayed her observation to her cousin, her cousin told her that this man could be suffering from the trauma of his failed marriage and the manner in which the woman he has done so much for divorced him-it was said that she laid claim to almost 80% of his assets over there. Her friends have told her that there is more to his wife’s reasons for divorcing him because he is a comfortable man by every standard-whom most women will like to keep.
She is confused right now and has come to the Parliament for ADVICE. She is 32years old
